God's own
God has been doing amazing things in my life in the last few years. He has been showing me how much he loves me and is teaching me how to trust him more. I have been praying for the last few years that God will show me how much he loves me. Not me as part of humanity but ME as in Sarah. Some awesome things have happened! One day as I was driving up my driveway I looked up at my house and there was a heart shaped cloud right above my house. I was blown away because a few hours before I had asked God to show his love for me in a way I could see. I struggle so often with insecurity and low self worth and that has really affected my relationship with God. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand that he loves me as an individual not just as a part of the whole human race. Have you ever struggled with knowing your worth and value in God's eyes?
Psalms 139:13-16 says
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Wow! Some of you may not know my story but I was an unplanned and for a time unwanted pregnancy. My Mom was trying to round up money for an abortion when she found Jesus. The moment I began to be formed in my mom's womb he saw me, he knew me, and he wanted me. This spring at a retreat I was praying and I asked God "What do you think of me?" And he gave me a few phrases and words that I wrote down. They are; desired, hoped for, loved, anticipated, his own, cherished, called for a purpose, and called by name. What more can I ask for! I have been learning since then that he really means what he told me. Sometimes it is so hard to fathom that the same God that made the universe knows my name. I tend to think he looks at humanity as a whole and say I love you. When in reality he's looking closely at me. He's looking at my failures and successes and saying Sarah I love you! I made you for a purpose! I have a great plan for your life! Don't be afraid your going to miss it. Just watch me and do what I do. I don't expect you to be perfect just keep moving forward towards me. What a privilege and honor.
By the way I bet if you ask him he would say the same things about you :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this Sarah. I was just learning about this very thing in Bible Study today, and it was exactly what I needed to hear tonight. God is so amazing!
